The Foundation conducts and/or funds a number of events and programs throughout the
year, including:
The Rancho Los Amigos Foundation will hold its 2012 Amistad Gala, "
A Mardi Gras for Miracles!" on Saturday, March 31 at the Westin Long Beach Hotel. The black tie event celebrates
125 years of excellence at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. Honorees include longtime Rancho supporter
Matt Rezvani of BP and Rancho patient and Performing Arts of Rancho director Jay Cramer. Beverly Mathis is chairing the
event, with Supervisor Don Knabe serving as honorary chair.

The “Roll Around the Ranch” Stroke Health & Wellness Fair includes a 1K, 5K and Kids Fun
walk/run, free blood pressure screenings, health education, and musical entertainment for
Rancho stroke survivors.
Rancho Golf Classic
The Rancho Los Amigos Foundation will hold its 21st Annual Rancho Golf Classic on August 8,
2011 at the Friendly Hills Country Club in Whittier, California. The tournament has raised more than
$1 million to benefit Rancho and its patients over the years.
Patient Fashion Show
Patients who have overcome catastrophic disabling injuries and illnesses demonstrate their
skills and share their hard-earned accomplishments in friends, family and loved ones. The
Fashion Show helps build self-esteem and confidence and showcases the tremendous drive of
our patients to return to independent living.
Spinal Injury Games
Approximately 300 Rancho patients with disabilities participate in a variety of wheelchair
sports such as football, basketball, bowling, hockey, baseball, golf, power soccer and tennis.
This event gives our patients an opportunity to push their athletic skills to the limit. It is an
important part of the therapy process.
The 16th Annual Art of Rancho Exhibition, featuring the artworks of more than 40 Rancho
Graduate Artists, will be held November 9-10, 2011. The Art of Rancho also includes
Rancho’s Art Book (see below) and calendar. Many of these patients find a new meaning in
life by participating in the Art of Rancho program.
