Psychology
Psychologists are members of Rancho's rehabilitation and medical
teams. The psychologist's focus is directed toward assessment, consultation
and psychotherapy services to better understand the impact of a patient's
medical conditions on his/hr unique psychological and social make up,
inform treatment providers on barriers that may inhibit response to
optimum medical and rehabilitative management, foster adjustment to illness
and injury, and return the individual to the highest possible functional
level and quality of life. Services provided are:
- Psychological Evaluation
- Neuropsychological Testing
- Capacity Evaluation
- Short-Term Psychotherapy
- Group Psychotherapy
- Family Psychotherapy
- Consultation to physicians and treatment team
- Psychoeducation to patient and families
- Referral to community mental health resources
Post Doctoral Resident and Extern Training Programs
The Department of Psychology offers a clinical training program at the
residency level in Clinical Psychology with Specialization in Clinical
Rehabilitation Psychology. Externship level training is also available for
doctoral level Clinical Psychology students.
