Nursing - Mission, Vision and Values
Mission
The mission of the Nursing Department is to provide high quality nursing services and to coordinate comprehensive patient care. The continuum of care includes preventive, acute, maintenance, and restorative care within a rehabilitation nursing framework. Emphasis is placed on self-care, maximizing independence, and early community reintegration. Care is provided in a collaborative interdisciplinary manner with concern and respect for the individual and family.
The Department of Nursing is accountable for safe, competent, knowledgeable and ethical practice. A professional nursing environment is supported through a collaborative management philosophy and staff development activities.
Vision
Building upon the heritage of leadership in rehabilitation nursing, care is provided based on six key values; excellence, commitment, contribution, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Nurses are accountable for practice based on professional and organizational standards. Nurses have a key responsibility for decision-making on an individual, unit, and organizational level.
A professional and rewarding practice environment is supported by nursing leadership. Nurses provide organizational leadership in supporting change, innovation, resource management, and excellence in patient care.
Rancho Nursing is nationally recognized and respected as a model for rehabilitation nursing practice, education and research.
Values
