Clinical Services
Occupational Therapy
A unique continuum of services from inpatient to outpatient are provided to facilitate integration back into the community and participation at home, school, and work.
Inpatient Services
Occupational therapy is an integral member of interdisciplinary teams which provide specialized, intensive inpatient rehabilitation in the following areas:
- Stroke and Gerontology
- Neurology
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Pediatrics
Occupational Therapy is also provided on a consultation basis to those inpatients admitted primarily for medical/surgical needs.
Outpatient Services
Outpatient Occupational Therapy services are provided to children and adults with physical disabilities resulting from neurological or orthopedic diagnoses. Referrals are from outpatient clinics, inpatient rehabilitation units, surgical or medicine services.
Drivers Evaluation and Training Program
Evaluation and training for individuals to use equipment and learn ways to compensate for disabilities to allow them to drive safely and independently
Pre-Vocational/Vocational Evaluation Program
A continuum of pre-vocational/vocational services are offered to assist an individual in developing an appropriate vocational/educational direction and discover his/her potential to return to work. The continuum includes Stepping Out Program (pre-vocational skills development), Vocational Evaluation, Cerritos College Satellite, Functional Capacity Capacity Evaluation, Work Readiness Program, and referral to the CA State Department of Rehabilitation when appropriate.
Center for Applied Rehabilitation Technology (CART)
An interdisciplinary team assists children and adults with physical disabilities to lead more independent lives through the use of assistive technology. A full range of evaluation and intervention services are offered in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), computer access and use, electronic aids for daily living, and seating and wheelchair mobility.
