Ziyad Ayyoub, M.D.
Dr. Ayyoub is Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation at Loma Linda University, Clinical Assistant
Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Clinical Assistant
Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Western
University of Health Sciences. He is Director of the UCLA
Multicampus Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training
Program and the Loma Linda Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Residency Training Program at Rancho Los Amigos National
Rehabilitation Center. Additionally, he is an attending physician at
Rancho Los Amigos where he
also serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Neurorehabilitation,
Chief of the Adult Brain Injury Service and President of the
Professional Staff Association.
Dr. Ayyoub specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management and spasticity management. He is the Director of the spasticity management program at Rancho Los Amigos. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator on multiple grant-funded research studies, including a retrospective chart review of myobloc treatment for spasticity in adult patients, a study examining pulmonary function in patients with reduced lung function treated with Botox, and a study on multiple-dose efficacy and safety of XP19986 in subjects with spasticity due to spinal cord injury, etc.
He serves as Chair on a number of committees at Rancho Los Amigos, including the credentials committee and the committee on failure modes - effects and criticality analysis on deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis and treatment. Dr. Ayyoub is certified by the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPMR), with a sub-specialty in spinal injury medicine. He is a fellow of AAPMR and the AAPMR's Brain Injury and Spasticity Special Interest Groups.
