Terrie Kaye DeBord, D.D.S.

Dr. DeBord is the Assistant Chief Medical Officer responsible for Ambulatory Care and Medical Information Management, and the Chairman of the Department of Dentistry at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Bacteriology and Public Health from Washington State University, she earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She joined the dental staff at Rancho after completing a general practice residency and a geriatric special fellowship at Rancho in 1985.

Dr. DeBord is a community leader and has been a peer counselor for the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles, a member of the Disabilities Task Force for the Angeles Girl Scout Council, and a member and troop leader for Girl Scout Troops in Angeles and Spanish Trails Councils. She served a six-year term, including one year as President, on the Board of Directors of the San Gabriel-Pomona Regional Center for People with Developmental Disabilities.

Dr. DeBord is an active member of several Rancho committees including, the Medical Executive Committee of the Professional Staff Association, the Ambulatory Care Committee, the Medical Records Committee and Los Amigos Research and Education Institute Board of Directors. She has been honored with awards including, a Fellowship in the American College of Dentists (2002); the Amistad Award by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation (2002); Volunteer of the Year Award by the Spanish Trails Girl Scout Council (1999); The annual Leadership Award by the National Management Association, Rancho Chapter (1998); and Rancho Manager of the Quarter (1998).

Dr. DeBord is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and Visiting Lecturer in Hospital Dentistry at UCLA School of Dentistry. She has presented a number of lectures related to dentistry for individuals with disabilities and has written several funded grant proposals. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Los Angeles Dental Society, the American Association of Hospital Dentists, the UCLA School of Dentistry Apollonians (founding member), the Southern California Academy of Oral Pathology, and the UCLA Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
