Salah Rubayi, M.D., F.I.C.S., F.A.C.S.

A world renown physician and surgeon who has had a positive impact on many patient lives at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Rubayi specializes in reconstructive plastic surgery of the hip and pelvis. He is Chair of Rancho's Department of Surgery and Chief of the Pressure Ulcer Management and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Programs. After earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of Baghdad Medical College, he earned a British Medical degree from the Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians in Edinburgh & Glasgow, Scotland. He has completed fellowships in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Rancho and in the burn unit at Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center. He has completed numerous residency trainings in England and Iraq in plastic surgery and general surgery. He joined the medical staff at Rancho in 1982 and has been gaining notoriety through his fierce dedication to the patients that he treats and to the medical profession. His credits include:

Dr. Rubayi is Professor of Clinical Surgery in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of Surgery at USC. He has published a number of scientific articles, made numerous scientific presentations nationally and internationally, and has served as co-investigator of several clinical trials related to pressure ulcer management in patients with spinal cord injury. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, International College of Surgeons, American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, International Medical Society of Paraplegia. He also holds membership with the Pan-Pacific Surgical Association, British Medical Association, International Society of Burn Injuries, American Burn Association, Wound Healing Society, American Paraplegia Society and American Spinal Injury Association.
