Shawn Phipps, MS, OTR/L, Douglas Rakoski, MA, OTR/L, ATP, and Barbara Brewer, COTA/C presented a six hour workshop on Vision Evaluation and Treatment Across the Lifespan at the April 2007 American Occupational Therapy Association Annual Conference in St. Louis.
Dr. Stephanie Kaplan's abstract was selected by the neurology section of the American Physical Therapy Association (ATPA) to be presented at the combined sections meeting of the APTA in Boston, Massachusetts. The Evaluation of a Six Week Education - Based Group Exercise Class for Individuals with Stroke: A Case Study; poster presentation described a new format in physical therapy treatment that emphasizes self-management as well as peer learning. Clients with hemiparesis from stroke demonstrated dramatic improvement in different walking parameters including walking speed and balance, as well as improvement in specific quality of life measures (February 2007).
