The Adult Day Services Center provides continuing care to assist patients who are transitioning from the inpatient care setting to community living, in collaboration with Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. The Rancho Adult Day Services is a state and national award-winning center for its exemplary program that specializes in services for older adults with physical and memory impairments. The program is licensed by the State of California for:

  1. Adult Day Health Care
  2. Adult Day Care
  3. Therapeutic exercise classes
  4. Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center

1. Adult Day Health Care

Services

Eligibility

Individuals shall meet physical and geographic criteria. RADS serves older adults who live in Downey, Bell, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, Maywood, and South Gate. Residences of surrounding cities may also be eligible.

Those eligible for services have a limited ability to function independently due to a physical or memory impairment, require nursing or therapy services, is 18 years or older (however, the emphasis is on the older adult).

Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Fees

Adult day health care accepts: Medi-Cal and private pay fee.
Adult Day Care accepts private pay fee.
"Scholarships" may be applied for, if available.

2. Adult Day Care Services

The adult day care services include the same services as above, except occupational, physical and speech therapies. Emphasis is placed on personal care services, supervision or assistance with activities of daily living and the protection of the individual during activities and peer interaction. Ceramic classes

RADS is sponsored by the Los Amigos Research and Education Institute, Inc. (LAREI), a non-profit organization located on the hospital grounds.

RADS is partially funded by the Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Department of Aging. The Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center is funded, in part, by the Los Angeles County Area Agency on Aging through the Older California Act. Other funding is provided through private, corporate and foundation contributions.
