Dentistry for People with Disabilities
Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center’s dentists are experts in providing specialized dental treatment for people with physical or developmental disabilities, or those with chronic, severe medical problems.
The dental facility is designed and equipped to accommodate patients who are wheelchair users and unable to transfer to a dental chair or must receive dental care on a gurney. Patients who are unable to cooperate for dental treatment in the clinic setting can be treated with sedation or in the operating room with general anesthesia.
A complete range of dental services is available, including preventive, restorative, oral and maxillofacial surgery (extraction of teeth and repair of broken jaws), maxillofacial prosthodontics (patients who have lost part of their jaw), endodontics, periodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
