Neurology
The neurology program provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for adult patients with rehabilitation potential whose disability is secondary to an acquired neurologic disorder. Conditions treated include brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre Syndrome and peripheral neuropathies, as well as cerebrovascular diseases other than stroke such as arteriovenous malformation, aneurysm and hypoxic/ischemic encephalopathy. In addition, Rancho Los Amigos has been designated a clinical site for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since the 1970s.
Under the guidance of Board Certified/Board Eligible neurologists, the interdisciplinary team assists patients in acquiring the skills necessary to achieve community reintegration to the fullest extent possible. There is an emphasis on continuity of care from the patient’s first encounter with our inpatient program, to the ongoing management of their outpatient health maintenance and neurologic and neurorehabilitation needs.
